Re-cap on Reasons for Variations in Global Food Consumption

The table below shows the variations (different amount) of food consumption in the world. (You may want to click on the image to have a clearer view).

Basically, the areas that are in bright yellow shows areas where the amount of food consumed per day is >3000 calories while the areas in dark greenish-yellow shows areas where the amount of food consumed per day is <2000 calories.



Question:

1) Describe the general trend between the areas with high calories consumed per day and the areas with very low calories consumed per day. [2m]

2) With reference to studies you have made (TB pg175-178), give 3 reasons why these differences in food consumption exist . [6m]

3) Describe 2 impacts that arise due to the variations in global food consumption. [4m]
